Original Floral Watercolors Now Available

Have you noticed hot house tulips suddenly sitting next to the dahlias at your local market? As dahlia season winds down, parrot tulips are popping up at our corner grocer, and I'm thinking about how flowers mark the passing of the year - and how much they inspire me, always - a pop of color on a gray day, bright blue hydrangeas begging me to sit on the back porch and sketch in the sun for awhile.

Flowers are one of my favorite things to paint - this year they took me to Paris where I stalked peonies at the markets and then sat at the table in my Saint Germain des Prés apartment each evening, brush in one hand, glass of rosé in the other, trying to capture their happiness and enthusiasm as the the sky faded and lights came on in windows across the rue Bonaparte.

These Parisian blooms are now available - along with a year's worth of floral watercolors - in my online store, marking the first time I'm finally making work available here. From the happy yellow tulips that brightened a rainy February to the dahlias that are the sunset of field flower season, the best part is that these florals will bloom on long after the bouquets that inspired them have faded.

Hope you find a bunch that speaks to you.  XXXOOO
